Portrait of Izael Junior

Software engineer · Building with AI agents

I build software.

I work where physical devices meet distributed software.

At the moment, I build software for smart metering and energy-system integrations.

Beyond energy, I’m drawn to distributed systems and complex engineering problems across industries.

about

A smart meter is a physical device. Making it work with the software around it is a distributed systems problem. That’s the kind of engineering I’m drawn to.

I’m Izael, a software engineer based in Curitiba, Brazil. At Landis+Gyr, I work on smart metering and energy-system integrations, with a focus on Advanced Metering Infrastructure and the REVELO Edge Intelligence Card solution.

What interests me most is how the pieces behave together: devices communicating, data moving between services, and software handling conditions that challenge the original design. I enjoy understanding the problem, weighing the trade-offs, and following a decision through implementation and verification.

I help teams move from a problem to a working solution with less need for day-to-day oversight. I take ownership of features end to end, clarify requirements, make technical trade-offs, and follow through after release. Along the way, I keep stakeholders informed, surface risks early, and help teammates get unstuck. I’m expanding my impact through larger challenges, technical leadership, and helping the team succeed.

As AI makes code easier to produce, engineering judgment and responsibility for the outcome matter increasingly. I use AI agents to explore approaches, implement changes, and shorten feedback loops, while remaining responsible for reviewing the code and verifying the solution. My approach draws on Extreme Programming: small releases, fast feedback, and continuous improvement.

My technical foundation includes C#/.NET, Java/Spring Boot, event-driven systems, and cloud delivery. I care about building software that serves the product and that the team can confidently maintain and improve.

If you’re working on challenging backend or distributed systems problems—or exploring how AI can improve engineering practice—I’d be glad to connect.
